Reliability of Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) ASRS

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) has released the results of two independent research studies on Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems (AS/RS) reliability. These studies, commissioned by MHIA and conducted by Brigham Young University’s (BYU) Marriott School of Management, found that AS/RS offer very high levels of reliability taking the uncertainty out of a long standing question about AS/RS performance. The research results are detailed in a White Paper titled Reliability of Automated Storage/Retrieval Systems (AS/RS). (more…)

Maximized Warehouse Space With ASRS SR/F Efficiency

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Warehouse space is a commodity that should be optimized to maximize cash flow and not to sit idle. Automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) and storage retrieval forks (SR/F) can maximize your warehouse efficiency and pallet throughput significantly, often freeing up additional warehouse storage space. As ASRS SR/F efficiency creates additional warehouse storage space, it is important to utilize the new and existing warehouse storage space to continue maximizing warehouse efficiency to increase warehouse profits and cash flow.
